The marriage of Miss Lindsey Diane Covington, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Covington of Mechanicsville to Mr. Mark Delaifiel Irwin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Irwin, Jr. of Mechanicsville took place Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Ginter Park Baptist Church in Richmond. Dr. Lee Gallman officiated. The bride is the granddaughter of Mrs. Ida Horne and the late Mr. James Horne and Mrs. Pearl Covington and the late Mr. Randall Covington. The groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Irwin, Sr., Mrs. Mildred Adams, and the late Mr. George Adams.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. The sister of the bride, Miss Courtney Covington served as Maid of Honor.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Kim Irwin, Mrs. Sarah Willard, Mrs. Niki Allen, Miss Sarah Irwin and Mrs. Casey Rodriguez. The groom’s father, Paul Irwin, Jr. was his son’s Best Man. Groomsmen were Mr. Daniel Irwin, Mr. Brian Tate, Mr. Landon Young, Mr. Brian Childress and Mr. Clinton Lewis. Miss Stella Atkins was the flower girl and Mr. Atto Smith was the ring bearer. Mrs. Lisa Horne read a special poem at the ceremony. Miss Kieran Horne was the guest book attendant.
The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom’s parents, was held at The Boathouse at Sunday Park. Following the ceremony, the reception was held at The Place at Innsbrook.
Following their honeymoon in Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple will reside at their home in Mechanicsville.
