The marriage of Miss Emmalee Camille Cross of Richmond, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Felix Cross, III of Ashland, to Justin Delano Moyer, of Richmond, son of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Moyer of Quinton took place Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Shady Grove United Methodist Church in Mechanicsville. Dr. John E. Moyer, grandfather of the groom, officiated.
The bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. O.L. “Pat” Oatman of Mechanicsville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Cross, Jr., formerly of Ashland. The groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Delano Getz of Atlanta, Georgia and Dr. and Mrs. John E. Moyer of Lancaster, PA.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
The maid of honor was Miss Kacie Jacobs of Mechanicsville. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Kristin Cross of Glen Allen, sister-in-law of the bride; Mrs. Gwenn Dando of Mechanicsburg, PA., sister of the groom; Miss Marie Pittman of Glen Allen, cousin of the bride; Miss Diane O’Hara, of Washington, D.C.; Miss Alex Hill of Arlington; Miss Jess Patterson of Westfield, New Jersey; Miss Allison Shonerd of Denver, Colorado; and Miss Katie Sprinkel of Richmond.
Mr. Jason Moyer of Charleston, S.C., brother of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Mr. John P. Moyer, father of the groom; Mr. Toler F. Cross of Glen Allen, brother of the bride; Mr. Will Dando of Mechanicsburg, PA, brother-in-law of the groom; Mr. Brandon Scott of Maple Glen, PA.; Mr. Buck Poropatich of Richmond; Mr. Geoff Gunther of Waynesboro; and Mr. Mike Rhoades of Ashland.
Miss Taylor Sibley of Richmond was the flower girl and Logan Rhoades of Ashland was the ring bearer.
The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the parents of the groom, was held at Maggiano’s. The wedding reception was held at Windfield, the home of the bride’s parents.
The bride graduated from The College of William & Mary with a B.A. in Elementary Education and Psychology. She is pursuing her Masters in Reading at the University of Virginia and is teaching second grade at Kersey Creek in Hanover County. The groom graduated from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland with a B.S. in Business Economics. He is currently employed as the Director of Sales at Markit Plus in Richmond. After a honeymoon in Aruba, the couple will reside in Richmond.
