the former Candace Elizabeth Dillon


The marriage of Miss Candace Elizabeth Dillon, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Harold D. Dillon III of Johnson City, Tenn., to Air Force 2Lt Matthew Brooks Sandridge, son of LTC and Mrs. Michael Sandridge of Hanover took place August 6, 2011 at King Family Vineyard in Crozet, Va. The Rev. Claire Goodman officiated.

The bride is the granddaughter of Herbert and Edith Phillips and the late Lois Phillips of Erwin, Tenn., and Harold and Freda Dillon of Welch, W.Va. The groom is the grandson of Espey and Virginia Jones of South Boston, Va., and the late Norman and Katherine Sandridge of Mechanicsville.

Miss Cara Dillon, sister of the bride was maid of honor. Mrs. Nicole Sandridge, sister-in-law of the bride, Mrs. Lindsey Cagle and Miss Christine Prasse, friends of the bride were bridesmaids.

Mr. Eric Sandridge, twin brother of the groom was best man. Groomsmen were Matthew Griffis, Bryn Meredith and Pete DeAnna, all friends of the groom.

Music was provided by Encore String Quartet. Ashlee and Andrea Whaley, cousins of the bride were readers. Greeters were Shaun Whaley, cousin of the bride and Jennifer DeAnna, friend of the bride and groom.

The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the parents of the groom, was held at The Downtown Grille in Charlottesville. The dinner reception and dancing followed the ceremony at the vineyard.
The bride graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a MS in Biology in 2009. She is currently teaching biology at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College in Salisbury, N.C.
The groom graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BS in Biology in 2008. He is currently a third year medical student at Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg.

The couple resides in Charlotte, N.C.
