 Katie Leigh Hampton and Matthew Brandon Venezuela Hampton-Venezuela Mr. and Mrs. John Robert Hampton of Mechanicsville, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie Leigh Hampton, to Matthew Brandon Venezuela, son of Mr. and Mrs. Felix Venezuela of Suffolk.
Miss Hampton is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Roger A. Farmer of Hanover, the late Mr. Harry L. Lacy of Richmond and the late Mr. and Mrs. McLean Hampton of Richmond. Katie is a 2004 graduate of Atlee High School, and received her Bachelor of Science from Longwood University in May 2008.
She is a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha and is currently employed as a teacher with Henrico County Public Schools.
Mr. Venezuela is the grandson of Mrs. Patricia Richey and the late Mr. William L. Richey of Houston, TX. and Sergio and Minerva Venezuela of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Matthew is a 2004 graduate of Norfolk Collegiate, and received his degree in Political Science from Hampden-Sydney College in May 2008. While attending Hampden-Sydney College, he was member of the Tiger Baseball Team. He is currently employed with the law firm of BrownGreer.
A January 2, 2009 wedding at The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond is planned.
