Mrs. Geoffrey Adam Gunther
the former Karah Lange Jones


The marriage of Miss Karah Lange Jones of Richmond, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Jones of Old Church, to Geoffrey Adam Gunther, of Richmond, son of Dr. and Mrs. Robert C. Gunther of Waynesboro, took place Saturday, October 17, 2009 on Gwynn’s Island, Va.  The Reverend Abbie D. Duenckel and the Honorable William D. Heatwole co-officiated.

The bride is the granddaughter of Mrs. Eleanor L. Wright of Sandston, and the late Mr. Robert H. Wright, and Mrs. Joyce M. Jones of Mechanicsville and the late Mr. Marvin J. Jones. The groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Glass of Johnstown, Pa. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Carl E. Gunther of Newtown, Pa.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

The maid of honor was the bride’s aunt, Miss Margaret Wright of Washington, D.C. The bridesmaids were Miss Beth Gunther of Tampa, Fl., sister of the groom; Mrs. Candace Hollender of Beaverdam, cousin of the bride; Miss Courtney Jones of Charlottesville, cousin of the bride; Miss Jamie Mercer of Arlington; Miss Susan Sutler of New York City; Miss Julie Platt of New York City; and Mrs. Krystal Hawke of Charlottesville.

Mr. Daniel Heatwole of Virginia Beach, childhood friend of the groom, was the best man.  Groomsmen were Mr. Chris Gunther of Philadelphia, Pa., brother of the groom; Mr. Seth Jones of New York City, brother of the bride; Mr. Adam Preski of Arlington; and Mr. Buck Poropatich, Mr. Ryan Stein, Mr. Patrick Gill, and Mr. Justin Moyer, all of Richmond.

The Mistress of Ceremonies was Mrs. Susan Jones, aunt of the bride.  Mrs. Paula Strickland, aunt of the bride, served as a reader.

The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the parents of the groom, was held at Sandpiper Reef in Hallieford, Va.  A waterfront wedding reception was held at the home of Mrs. Joyce Jones, grandmother of the bride, on Gwynn’s Island.

The bride received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia.  She received her Juris Doctor from Washington and Lee University School of Law and a Master’s in Health Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.  She is currently employed at the law firm of Hancock, Daniel, Johnson, & Nagle, PC.  The groom graduated from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland.  He is currently employed at Richmond Physical Therapy.  After a honeymoon in Tulum, Mexico, the couple will reside in Richmond with their beloved dog Wrigley.
