the former Heather Nichole Lynn


The marriage of Miss Heather Nichole Lynn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy R. Lynn, Sr. of Mechanicsville, to Mr. Mark Travis Ballos, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Ballos of Mechanicsville, took place on October 29, 2011, at The Mill at Fine Creek in Powhatan.  Dr. Jeff Scott Sr., Pastor, Northside Baptist Church, officiated.

The bride is the granddaughter of Mrs. Gladys Davis of Buena Vista, Va., and the late Mr. Paul F. Davis Jr., and the late Mr. John R. Lynn Sr. and the late Mrs. Margaret Lynn, all of Buena Vista, Va.  The groom is the grandson of Mrs. Sara Richmond of Short Pump, and the late Mr. Morris Richmond of Short Pump, and Mr. Edward Ballos of Mechanicsville, and the late Mrs. Katherine Ballos of Mechanicsville.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. Mrs. Kelsey McGovern of Portland, Ore. served as Matron of Honor.  Bridesmaids were Mrs. Jennifer Allen of Ashland, sister of the groom; Miss Jamie Ballos, of Mechanicsville, sister of the groom; Miss Fawn Heeter, of Warrenton; Mrs. Tara Johnson, of Mechanicsville; Miss Abbey Maslyn, of Fairfax Station; and Miss Rachel Shuck of Glen Allen. 

Mr. Zachary Trivette of Mechanicsville, served as Best Man.  Groomsmen were Mr. Stephen Ballos of Mechanicsville, brother of the groom; Mr. Steven Cridlin of Mechanicsville; Mr. Andrew Duncan of Martinsville; Mr. Brady Johnson of Mechanicsville; Mr. Robbie Lynn of Arlington, brother of the bride; and Mr. Matthew Stoneman of Mechanicsville.

The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom’s parents, was held at the Richmond Marriott West.  The ceremony took place at the historic Mill at Fine Creek in Powhatan, with ceremony music performed by Somerset String Orchestra. Mrs. Colleen Kimbrough served as wedding coordinator.

The reception and dinner, hosted by the bride’s parents, was held at The Mill at Fine Creek, with music provided by Mr. Eric Cunningham.

The bride is a 2005 graduate of Atlee High School and a 2009 graduate of Christopher Newport University, with a degree in Psychology, and is currently employed as a teacher at Mechanicsville Baptist Church Childcare. 

The groom is a 2004 graduate of Atlee High School, attended J. Sargeant Reynolds College, and is currently employed by Henrico County of Virginia / FedEx.

Following a honeymoon in Florida, the couple will reside in Mechanicsville.
