Ms. Donna Mathews of Mechanicsville is pleased to announce the engagement of her daughter, Miss Elizabeth Ann Mathews to Christopher Wayne Verlander of Mechanicsville, son of Mrs. Daryl Norton of Lanexa, Va., and Mr. Ronald Verlander of Mechanicsville. Miss Mathews is also the daughter of the late Robert Clifton Mathews Jr.
Elizabeth is the granddaughter of Eleanor Hancock of Waterford, Conn., and the late James Wesley Hancock Sr., and Robert Clifton Mathews Sr., of Richmond, and the late Louise Mathews. Christopher is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Franklin Robbins Sr. of Richmond, and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jeffries Verlander of Mechanicsville.
Elizabeth is a graduate of VCU with a master’s in teaching and a bachelor’s in psychology. She is a kindergarten teacher at Washington Henry Elementary School in Mechanicsville. Chris is a self-employed contractor with Verlander’s Construction Company, Inc.
A July 2007 wedding is planned.
