The marriage of Greta McKinley Robertson and Michael Wayne Atkins Jr. took place August 9, 2008 at 6 p.m. at the Virginia Cliffe Inn in Glen Allen. Mr. John Mehford officiated at the outdoor ceremony.

Greta was given in marriage by her parents, Jimmy and Tricia Robertson of Mechanicsville. She is the granddaughter of Margaret D. Lenhart and Alice O. Robertson, both of Chase City, Va. and the late C. Earl Lenhart and Herbert E. Robertson.

Mike is the son of Michael and Gloria Atkins of King William, and the grandson of Ruby Layne of Highland Spring and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Atkins Sr. of Heathsville, Va.

Sarah Elizabeth Oswald, close friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Flower girl was Allison Rose Smith, cousin of the groom. Grace Ashbrook Marano, friend of the bride, was soloist and Barbara Ann Averette, godmother of the bride, was reader.

Michael Wayne Atkins Sr. was his son’s best man. Ushers were Corey Michael Atkins, brother of the groom, and Robert Wesley Bookman, Roger Waylon Bookman, Dave Scott Hepper, Kevin Neil Layne, William Mark Penny, Heath Michael Stewart and Lucas Cullen Tucker, close friends of the groom.

Jessica Elias Braum, friend of the bride, was the wedding planner. Music for the wedding ceremony was provided by Windemere Strings Trio and by Choice Entertainment for the reception following the ceremony. Flowers Make Scents designed the floral arrangements and Ukrops provided the cake. Photographer was Macguire Neblett of Macguire Neblett Photography.

After honeymooning in Key West, the couple resides in King William.
