The marriage of Joanna Douglas Fuller, daughter of Mr. David W. and Mrs. Judith C. Fuller of Mechanicsville, to Daniel Victor Shapiro, son of Dr. Roy Shapiro and Dr. Leanne Domash and stepson of Mr. Ken Theil, all of New York, N.Y., took place July 7, 2007 at The Wilton House in Richmond. Mr. David Schreibfeder officiated.
The bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Dallas Fuller of Winston-Salem, N.C., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Martin Collier of Raleigh, N.C. The groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Shapiro of Brooklyn, N.Y., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Victor Goldstein of Chester, Pa.
The bride, escorted by her father, was given in marriage by her parents. Miss Kerri Hester Dankos of Arlington, was the maid of honor. Mrs. Jean Marie Fuller of St. Augustine, Fla., sister-in-law of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Rachel Paula Shapiro of New York, N.Y., sister of the groom, Samantha Paige Bateman of Alexandria, and Susan Leigh Matchett of Charlotte, N.C. Mr. Andrew Yang of Tinton Falls, N.J., was the best man. Groomsmen were Andrew David Fuller of Roanoke, brother of the bride, Patrick Shepard Fuller of St. Augustine, Fla., brother of the bride, Kevin Francis Duke of Sarasota, Fla., and Ryan Williams Perry of Harpers Ferry, West Va.
Miss Abby Thomas Bruce of Mechanicsville, friend of the bride, read the ceremony scripture and poetry. Guestbook and program attendants were Lucia Christina Offutt of New York, N.Y. and Christina Joy Saunders of Greenwich, Conn.
Ms. Suzanne Riehl played the piano and Jared A. Broussard CPL USMC RET played the trumpet. Mrs. Mauna Mullins served as the wedding director.
A rehearsal dinner honoring the bride and groom was hosted by the groom’s parents at the Country Club of Virginia, Westhampton. The reception following the ceremony, was held at The Jefferson Hotel.
The bride is a graduate of the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce and is a consultant with Kurt Salmon Associates in New York. The groom, a graduate of the University of Chicago and the University of Virginia School of Law, is an associate with Simpson, Thacher and Bartlett LLP in New York.
After a honeymoon in Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple will reside in New York.
