Due to the number of arrests, which prompted insufficient personnel to continue, a Sobriety Checkpoint conducted Friday night by the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office was terminated 10 minutes early.

According to Capt. Michael J.Trice, five deputies were posted on Atlee Station Road at Honey Meadows (Atlee High School) from 11:30 p.m. to 2:50 a.m. Four of those officers made arrests.

Five criminal and three driving under the influence charges were made. Trice also said 13 summonses were issued.

A total of 161 vehicles passed through the checkpoint.
