I am a Veteran’s widow (12 years) and also have served during Desert Storm. My husband’s death was service connected and for the past year my 17 year old son and I have been homeless.  We lost our home to foreclosure last January due to our mortgage company, PHH Mortgage Service Center refused to work with me and lower my mortgage payments under President Obama’s Home Affordable Mortgage Program.  I have been and remain unemployed.  My son and I have been living in motels/hotels struggling every day.  I would like to thank you all for everything you are doing for those who have and continue to serve.  I don’t think I will be able to make it to Mechanicsville because I don’t have the money for gas and I only get enough to get my son to his school, L.C. Bird every day. Until I get employed, I have to worry about our funds for food every day.  God Bless our Military!
