Brunswick Stew Sale to benefit woman battling cancer

A Brunswick Stew Sale will be held on Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Old Black Creek Fire Department in Mechanicsville.
Proceeds will be donated to the Ada Elizabeth T. Johnson Cancer Fund.
A native of New Kent County and the daughter of Wilford and Betty Throckmorton of Quinton, Beth was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December 2011.
The stew will be made by her brother, Linny Throckmorton.
To pre-order, call 932-4507 and leave a message with name, number of quarts and a phone number if a follow-up call is necessary. The cost is $7 per quart.
The Brunswick Stew can be picked up starting at 1 p.m. on Feb. 11 at the old fire station located at 6228 McClellan Road in Mechanicsville.
To make a donation to the Ada Elizabeth T. Johnson Cancer Fund, visit a Wells Fargo Bank and make a donation to the ADA BETH JOHNSTON Trust Fund.
