Something new is coming to Fairfield Presbyterian Church in Mechanicsville this holiday season. Maybe you’ll see it as you drive by. Or better yet, pull into the parking lot and get a better view.
On December 22, from 7pm to 8pm, Fairfield Presbyterian is hosting a Children’s Living Nativity on its grounds on Cold Harbor Road . The church invites you to come see Mechanicsville children in costumes, along with live farm animals, depict that first Christmas in Bethlehem.
“It’s fun for the kids, and if you want to find out what the first Christmas is in children’s eyes, this would be a good way to do that”, says nine year old Grace Herring, who will be one of the Nativity players.
Allison Letourneau, who serves as one of Fairfield ’s elders, is organizer of the event. “We want to share our excitement for Christmas with our community. We’ll have kids, costumes, animals, hot chocolate, and with that mix, plenty of Christmas joy.”
Other upcoming Christmas offerings at Fairfield include its Joy Choir Christmas pageant at 4:30pm December 14th, Christmas Caroling at 6:30pm December 19th, Adult Christmas Concert at 7pm December 21st, and Christmas Eve services at 5:30pm for families and 7:30pm for candlelight service. Worship services are regularly Sundays at 9am for contemporary service and 11am for traditional service.
