A 20-year-old Montpelier man has been charged with robbing the Montpelier Pharmacy.
According to Lt. Michael J. Trice of the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, Jamerson Early Seay was identified as a possible suspect soon after the robbery, based on the strong citizen support and the initiative of the responding officers.
A resident of the 16000 block of Hennessy Way, Seay was arrested Friday, Feb. 13, and charged with robbery and possession of a controlled substance.
He is lodged in the Pamunkey Regional Jail without bond.
He is scheduled to appear in court on March 27.
The pharmacy, located in the 17000 block of Mountain Road, was robbed on Thursday, Feb. 12, around 2:30 p.m.
The suspect had been described as a white male in his mid-20s, average height and weight, and wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt with white lettering on the front, blue jeans and purple fleece gloves.
He approached the pharmacist, who was behind the counter, and indicated he was armed and demanded pharmaceuticals.
No one was injured during the robbery.
The suspect left the store after recovering an undisclosed amount of pain medication.
