The Ville Players, a new community theater in Mechanicsville, has been formed by Wanda Barber and Pam Beatty.

Saying they are dedicated to providing quality entertainment and education to the community, the women have scheduled auditions for Monday and Tuesday, July 6-7, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the new Mechanicsville Library at Sherwood Crossing Place (behind Arby’s).

The first production is to be presented Aug. 6-8 and Aug. 13-15 at a venue yet to be determined.

Interested actors should bring a resume and headshot, if available, and a one-minute comedic monlogue.

Barber will serve as president and managing director, while Beatty is vice president and artistic director. Rounding out the board are Ellen Malloy, costume designer; Vivian Johnson, community member; and Joe Mattys, theatre professor.

Owners of empty spaces are asked to contact The Ville Players at 512-6291.

Those seeking additional information may call 512-6291.
