Mary B. Branch, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Mechanicsville, passed away
Monday June 18, 2007. She is survived by a son David N. Branch and wife
Robin of Crozier, Va., a daughter Sue W. Brain of Sarasota, Fla., two grandsons,
Stephen C. Brain and wife Marchelle of Berkeley, Calif., and Kevin M. Brain
of Sarasota, Fla., and one great-granddaughter, Madeleine of Berkeley, Calif. Mrs.
Branch was a retired kitchen manager at Camp Hanover. In lieu of

Mary Louise Brown, was born July 15, 1901 in Jacksonville, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daisy and Henry Sheffield Law. In 1902 they moved back to their homestead in Franklin County, Va., where she grew up with her four sisters and one brother. Louise became certified to teach school at the age of 18, attending Radford College every summer and teaching during the school year. Her first school was a one-room school with all grades combined. Louise enjoyed riding her horse to school as she was an accomplished rider. Louise married, and she and her husband moved to Williamsburg in 1939, where she began working for Colonial Williamsburg and continued for 30 years, retiring in 1966. At the time of her retirement, she was the Executive Housekeeper for the Williamsburg Inn, where she often welcomed dignitaries from around the world. In 1980 Louise, now widowed, moved to Richmond to be with her sister, the late Katherine Smith, who was also widowed. Louise and Katherine spent many happy years in their home, the Northside of Richmond. Louise was a member of Stukeley Hall Baptist Church, where she was an active member for many years. Louise is survived by nephews, R. Kenneth Campbell and Bobby Jones; nieces, Bonnie Charles and Sonya Krista; also numerous other nieces and nephews. The family received friends Sunday, June 17, 2007 at the Mechanicsville Chapel, Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd. Funeral services were held Monday, June 18 at Stukeley Hall Baptist Church, 601 Azalea Ave., Richmond, Va. 23227. Interment 2 p.m. Monday at Williamsburg Memorial Park, Williamsburg, Va. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stukeley Hall Baptist Church.
Edith J. Clark, 104, of Mechanicsville, widow of Frank O. Clark Sr., passed away Monday, June 18, 2007. She is survived by a son, Frank O. Clark Jr.; two grandchildren, Debby Hubinger and Becky Crawford; a great-grandson, Daniel Ferrell. The family received friends Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at the Mechanicsville Chapel, Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd. Graveside services were held Thursday, June 21, 2007 at Signal Hill Memorial Park.
Edward Spencer Coleman Jr. (Mr. Ed), a resident of the Village at the Masonic Home of Virginia, died Thursday, June 21, 2007. He is survived by his bride of 59 years, Frances Greenwood Coleman; two daughters, Christie C. Tyler (John) of Warrenton, Va. and Wendy L. Coleman of Canyon Lake, Texas; two grandchildren, Keith Tyler of Dale City, Va. and Courtney Tyler of Westminster, Md.; and a special “brother-cousin”, Albert K. Atkinson and wife, Mary Lois. Mr. Coleman was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Spencer (Mike) Coleman Sr. and Grace R. Coleman; and his sister, Ethel Coleman. He was a lifetime member of Fairmount Christian Church, where he served as a deacon, an elder, and in many other capacities. Ed retired after 43 years of service as assistant engineer at the Virginia Department of Transportation. He was a past master of Washington & Henry Lodge No. 344 AF&AM. The family received friends Saturday, June 23 at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd. Funeral services were held Sunday, June 24 at Fairmount Christian Church, 6502 Creighton Rd., Mechanicsville, Va. A Masonic Memorial Service preceded the funeral service. Interment followed at Gethsemane Church of Christ Cemetery, Mechanicsville, Va. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Washington & Henry Lodge No. 344 AF&AM, the Masonic Home of Virginia or Fairmount Christian Church.
Eunice Mae Hurt, 95, formerly of Mechanicsville, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2007. She is survived by three nieces, Barbara J. Apperson, Louise Cooper and Anne Dvorak; two nephews, Robert E. Hurt III and James S. Hurt; nine great-nieces and nephews, and nine great-great-nieces and nephews. She was retired from the Department of Motor Vehicles on November 1, 1976 after 33 years of service. Eunice joined Shady Grove United Methodist Church in 1924 and was the longest standing member of the church. The family received friends Sunday at the Mechanicsville Chapel, Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd. Graveside services were held Monday, at Shady Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Wayne G. Orrender Sr., of Mechanicsville, died Thursday, June 21, 2007. He is survived by his wife, Elva A. Orrender; son, Wayne G. Orrender Jr. and daughter-in-law, Barbara L. Orrender; daughter, Patricia Orrender Noack and son-in-law, Robert J. Noack; two grandchildren, William Gregory Orrender and Tina Carol Smith; three great-grandchildren, Bridgette Marie Orrender, Matthew William Orrender and Samantha Elizabeth Smith. Mr. Orrender was a member of Northside Baptist Church, a member and Past Master of Northside Lodge No. 292, AF&AM, and a veteran of World War II. The family received friends Friday, June 22, at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd. A private graveside service was held at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Saturday, June 23, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Northside Lodge No. 292, AF&AM, or Northside Baptist Church.
Kathryn F. Patrick, 89, of Covenant Woods, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. (Ted) Patrick. She is survived by a son, William T. (Pat) Patrick Jr. and wife, Phyllis; three grandchildren, Stacey Patrick Giles and husband, Rick, William T. (Trey) Patrick III, and Michael Patrick and wife, Brandi; five great-grandchildren; a beloved niece, Norma Galpin; and numerous nephews. Mrs. Patrick was a member of New Bridge Baptist Church. The family received friends Wednesday, June 20 at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd., where services were held Thursday. Entombment Signal Hill Memorial Park. Robert W. Worley Sr., age 74, of Mechanicsville, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2007. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pansy; one daughter, Carolyn Worley; fours sons, Robert, John and wife, Alicia, Randy and wife, Pamela, and Brian Worley; grandchildren, John Worley Jr., Megan Andrews and husband, Eric, Melanie, Becky, Kayla, Christy, Christian, Lacey and Adam Worley, and Nikki and Tyler Brown; a great-grandson, Austin Worley; a sister, Gladys Jones. The family received friends Saturday and Sunday at the Mechanicsville Chapel, Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd., where funeral services were conducted Monday.
