Tony Barney, of Hanover, died July 11, 2007. He is survived by his wife, Tracy Barney; a daughter, Haley Barney; a son, Alec Barney; his father, Milton Barney; his mother, Jeanne Barney; and two sisters, Donna and Sweetie. A memorial service was held Tuesday July 17, 2007 at the Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Parkway.
Charles Malcolm Boswell “Mac”, 83, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2007. He is survived by his brother, Arthur J. Boswell and his wife, Irene, of Mechanicsville; nephew, Jay Boswell and wife, Andrea, of Williamsburg; and a great-nephew, Thomas. He was a lifelong member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. The family received friends on Friday July 20, 2007 at the Mechanicsville Chapel, Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee David Rd. The graveside service was held Saturday July 21, 2007 at the Walnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Eunice Perkins Durbin, 81, of Mechanicsville, widow of Henry C. Durbin, passed away Monday, July 16, 2007. She is survived by her children, John T. Durbin and wife, Cheryl, James E. Durbin and wife, Patti, Janice D. Singleton and husband, Dean; two sisters, Edith Flurry and Lillian Cersley of Mechanicsville; brother, Julian Perkins of Buckingham; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Durbin was an active member of Mechanicsville Chapter #132 OES, and a member of Liberty Christian Church. The family received friends Tuesday July 17, and Wednesday July 18, 2007 at the Mechanicsville Chapel, Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd., Services were also held at the Mechanicsville Chapel with graveside services occurring at Signal Hill Memorial Park.
Robert L. Littlepage, Sr. “Bobby”, 79, passed away July 16, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Louise Littlepage. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Jean. Bobby was a patriotic World War II Navy veteran, and served on the U.S.S. Bowers. He was also retired from Littlepage Logging Co., and was an avid race fan. He is survived by his daughter, Virginia Chisholm (Bubba); songs, Louie (Debbie), Wayne (Rennie) and Jeff (Elaine) Littlepage. He is also survived by his stepchildren Linda (Mike) Smith and Robby (Vickie) Bowers; grandchildren, Sylvia Robinson, Robert Lewis III, Emmy Lou and Jake Littlepage; step-grandchildren, Shawn Smith (Linda), Cheryl Bowers, Melissa and Carrie Bartley; great-grandchildren, Dylan Loving, Haley Robinson, Katelyn Howell and Anthony Bowers. He will be greatly missed by Cody, his little Yorkie. The family received friends Tuesday July 17, 2007 at the Mechanicsville Chapel, Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Rd., where services were also held Wednesday July 18, 2007. Graveside services occurred at Signal Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Louise Borkey Tucker, 88, of Mechanicsville, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2007. She is survived by her children, Edmund R. Bowers Jr., Marie Louise Marshall and Leon E. Tucker Jr.; two sisters, Grace Manson of Pensacola, Fla., and Jean Achay of York, Pa.; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family received friends Friday July 20, 2007, at the Mechanicsville Chapel, Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Rd. Graveside services occurred Saturday July 21, 2007 at Signal Hill Memorial Park.
Edward Zuraw, 85, of Mechanicsville, passed away July 10, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Kate Zuraw; three brothers, Stanley, Joseph and Leon Zuraw; and one son, Bobby Revere. His wife of 51 years, Elizabeth P. Zuraw, is left to cherish his memory. Four children also survive him, Debbie Bergquam of Post Falls, Idaho, Mary Poe of Mechanicsville, David Zuraw and wife, Terry, of Chesterfield, and Barbara Walter and husband, Carl, of Mechanicsville. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Angie, Stacey, Vicki, Bethany, Jarrod and Travis; four great-grandchildren; a special nephew, Tom Pierce; as well as many other nieces and nephews. Edward was a WWII veteran who worked for 15 years as a security guard at Wackenhut Corporation, retired from Tidewater Yacht Agency, and was a member and “regular” of the Tuckahoe Moose Lodge. The family received friends Thursday July 12, 2007 at the Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th Street, West Point, Va. Funeral and graveside service were held Friday July 13, 2007 at Shacklefords Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad, 8105 Walnut Grove, Mechanicsville, Va, 23111.
