Arthur Linwood Bradley, 70, of Mechanicsville, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008. He is survived by his wife of two years, Nancy R. Bradley; four sons, Arthur Linwood Bradley Jr. and wife, Barbara G. Bradley, Stephen Mark Bradley and wife, Kathy L. Bradley, John Kevin Bradley and wife, Michelle L. Bradley, and Brian Keith Bradley; six grandchildren, Madelyn, Race, Heather, Robert, Brian and Sara Bradley; one step grandchild, Cody Roberts; and brother, George Bradley. The family received friends Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008 and Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008 at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Road, and where a funeral service was held Monday, Feb. 4, 2008. Graveside services were held at Signal Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, Va. 23060.

Mildred Irene Gantz, age 81, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord Jan. 27, 2008.  She was preceded in death by her husband Irvin Daniel Gantz.  She is survived by her son’s; Terry W. Gantz Sr.(Linda), Gary L. Gantz (Kathy), and Lanny D. Gantz, daughter; Susan R. Boyce (John), seventeen grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren, brother; Eugene A. Collins Jr. (Verla), and sister; Margaret E. Crowder.  The family received friends Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008 and Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008 at the Atlee Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, Rt. 301 & Shady Grove Road.  Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 1, 2008 at the funeral home. Graveside services were held at Signal Hill Memorial Park.

Richard Wayne Hope, of Mechanicsville, died Jan. 28, 2008. He is survived by his parents, John and Audrey Hope; two brothers, John H. and Michael L. Hope and wife, Terri; a sister, Lynne Pauley and husband, Robert. His remains rest at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy., Mechanicsville, where the family received friends Thursday Jan. 31, 2008 and where funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 1, 2008. Graveside services were held at Hanover Memorial Park.

Robert Benjamin Hughes IV, also known as “Rob” or “Robbie”, of Fredericksburg, formerly of Mechanicsville, departed suddenly to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008. He is survived by his daughter, Kori Marie Hughes; devoted friend, Tommy Atkinson; parents, Robert B. III and Bonnie J. Hughes; brother, John Hughes and wife, Debbie; nephew, Phillip Hughes; grandparents, Thurman and Roxanah Eggleston of Chesterfield, Va.; and other relatives and friends. He was a 1988 graduate of Lee-Davis High School and an avid hunter and fisherman. The family received friends Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008 at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd. Graveside services were held Friday, Feb. 1, 2008 at Signal Hill Memorial Park. Dr. William Michael Lordi, 84, of Mechanicsville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008. Dr. Lordi was born in April of 1923, New York City. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1954. During his tenure in the Navy, he earned his college degree from Colgate University. He also earned his medical degree from the Long Island College of Medicine. He completed his residency in psychiatry in Lexington, Ky. He came to Richmond in 1957 as medical director with Memorial Guidance Clinic for Children. He later developed and was medical director of Lor-Berg Family Guidance Clinic. Dr. Lordi was also medical director of Commonwealth Psychiatric Center and was a psychiatric consultant for several area school systems, state psychiatric hospitals and Virginia Institute of Pastoral Care. He was an avid lover of his family, travel, music and people. Dr. Lordi is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Beverly; his daughter, Jeanine Lordi of Richmond; his son, Randy Lordi and wife, Lynn, of Mechanicsville; his grandchildren, Megan and husband, Dante Cooley, Ian Lordi, Jacob Lordi and Alex Stuck; brother, Michael and wife, Anna, of Mechanicsville. The family received friends at Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd., where Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008 and where services were held Friday, Feb. 1, 2008. Graveside services were held in Hanover Memorial Park. Rosemary Parrish Marks, age 83, of the Hermitage Retirement Center in Richmond, passed from this life on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008. She is survived by her husband, Frank R. Marks; his daughters and son-in-laws, Bettie and Ronald Brixey of Phoenix, Ariz. and Nancy and James Fry, of Chesterfield, Va.; and three grandchildren. Mrs. Marks was preceded in death by her first husband, Kirk T. Parrish. She was a member of Cool Spring Baptist Church and a retired medical assistant and former volunteer at Henrico Doctor’s Hospital. A celebration service of Rosemary’s life was held at Cool Spring Baptist Church, Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cool Spring Church, 9283 Atlee Station Rd., Mechanicsville, Va. 23116.

Mary “Midge” Smith, 82, of Mechanicsville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard H. Smith; her parents, Grover and Mary Epperley; brother, Alvin Epperley; sisters, Thelma Mills and Virginia Bland. She is survived by her sisters, Frances Mills and Louise McGuire (Dick); daughters, Ruth S. Hall and her husband, Marshall; Kathy S. Jones and her husband, Richard; grandchildren, Jason Hall, Dallas Hall (Kathryn), Henry Kirby (Cindy) and Melissa Kirby; great-grandchildren, Katelyn Hall, Trevor, Tyler, Kelsey and Trenton Hall; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-nephews. A special thanks to Dr. Cappello, and the second floor nursing staff at Memorial Regional Medical Center, Lyn Harding and Ernie Babel. The family received friends Friday, Feb. 1, 2008 and Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008 from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mechanicsville Chapel, Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Rd., and where a funeral service was held Monday, Feb. 4, 2008. Imel F. Timberlake, of Mechanicsville, passed away on Jan. 31, 2008. God sent his loving Angels one called Goodness and the other called Mercy for Imel to come home to be with her Heavenly Father. Imel leaves to mourn in her absence her devoted children; Charlotte A. Timberlake-Torseth of Mechanicsville, Catherine “BEBE” Timberlake Morris of Beaufort, N.C., Christine M. Timberlake of Mechanicsville, John M. Timberlake Jr. of Mechanicsville, Jeffrey J. Timberlake of New Port Richey, Fla.; she is also survived by eight grandchildren, Janie E. Lee, Ashley A. Timberlake, Tiffany N. Timberlake, Allison Brennick, John M. Timberlake, III, Trond H. Torseth, Jeffrey J. Timberlake, Jr. and Justin J. Timberlake; one great-grandson, Kaleb Brennick; and grand dog, Lexie. She also leaves five brothers, one sister as well as several other extended love ones. Imel was preceded in death by her parents, Arvil and Oda Fuller. A Celebration of her life was held Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008 at the Mechanicsville Presbyterian Church. Graveside services were held at Hanover Memorial Park. Imel Timberlake was co-owner of Capital Service Garage, Timberlake Auto Parts, and Timberlake Car Crushing. Ms. Timberlake was a past president of the Women’s 99 Club (an association of female pilots). She was also a helicopter pilot, a longtime member of Mechanicsville Presbyterian Church, and a member of Chamberlayne Farms Women’s Club. She loved travel, playing music, and singing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mechanicsville Presbyterian Church, 7339 Atlee Road, Mechanicsville, Va. 23111 or the charity of your choice.
