Elizabeth B. Foster, 99, of Mechanicsville, formerly of Richmond and Louisa County, went to be with the Lord Monday, Feb. 23, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Foster; son, William A. “Red” Foster; grandchildren, Luanne and David Hall; and one great-grandson, Daniel Hall. Lizzie is survived by one son, Tom Foster (Gigi) of Mechanicsville; four daughters, Ruby Sebrell (Tom) of Staunton, Betty West and Mary Minor (Bob), both of Richmond, and Margaret Hall of Beaverdam; one brother, Jessie H. Bentley, also of Mechanicsville; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was a longtime member of Pine Street Baptist Church, serving for many years as a nursery worker, and was a member of the Home League of the Salvation Army. Laura Helen Henley, 88, of Glen Allen, passed away Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Mason Henley. She is survived by five children, Winfree Henley (Betty), Aubrey Henley Sr. (Karen), Marian Marshall (Will), Gayle Enos (Bill), Jackie Chandler (Bill); six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; her sisters, Stella Peregoy and Pearl Hicks; and numerous nieces and nephews; also a very special friend, Bonnie King. Vicki Frame Loving, 60, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009. She was preceded in death by her son, Welford “Allen” Loving Jr.; and her father, Glyde Frame. Mrs. Elizabeth Mason Naylor, 75, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009 at Moses Cone Hospital. Funeral services were held on Friday, Feb. 27, 2009 at South Elm Street Baptist Church. Graveside services followed follow at Spring Branch Baptist Church in Dunn, N.C. Mrs. Naylor was born on Oct. 19, 1933 in Harnett County. She was an active member of South Elm Street Baptist Church and member of the Samaritan’s class. She was a former member of Bethel Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia and Tabernacle Baptist Church in Greensboro. Elizabeth loved gardening and planting trees. She loved her family dearly and was very proud of her children and friends. She was preceded in death by parents, Harvey and Bertha Porter Mason; husband, Ralph A. Naylor; sister, Violet Hobbs; brothers, Lloyd Mason and Jack Mason. Alma Scott Ratcliffe, 84, of Mechanicsville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 20, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis W. “Scotty” Scott; two sisters, Myra Gaines and Joyce Wright; and one brother, Hugh Barnes. She is survived by her children, Gale Kulp and her husband, Lamar, of Mechanicsville, Sandra Fryer and her husband, Dean, of Toano, and Francis W. Scott Jr.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Alma was a retired employee of Anthem (Blue Cross), and a member of Sandston Baptist Church.

Goodman, Jr., and wife Christy Goodman, and their two daughters Aliza 4, and Elise 3 months of Mechanicsville, granddaughter Julie Scott Benware and husband, Wade Benware of King William, granddaughter Angie Goodman Spruill, her husband Todd Spruill and their son, Dylan 4 and daughter Taylor 2, of Mechanicsville, and granddaughter Maria Salgado 12, daughter of Pam and Jose Salgado, of Mechanicsville. She is survived by her two sisters, Margie Trent and Ethel Osterbind. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her endless generosity and kindness to others.
