Arthur Jennings Boswell, 80, of Mechanicsville, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Irene; son, Jay Boswell and wife, Andrea of Williamsburg; and a grandson, Thomas. He was a lifelong member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church, a long term member of Hanover Ruritan Club and President of Electro Mechanical Handling, Inc. The family received friends Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd., where funeral services were held Wednesday, April 2, 2008. Graveside services were held at Walnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Frances Nelson Gray, 64, of King William, Va., passed peacefully on March 28, 2008 after a sudden illness and a valiant attempt at rehabilitation. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, G. Edward “Ed” Gray Jr.; her two children, Robert E. Gray and wife, Tammy, and Jaime G. Miller and husband, Donald, of Mechanicsville; two grandchildren, Blake and Reagan Miller, who were the lights of her life; Frances is also survived by two sisters, Dottie Overstreet and her husband, John, of Roanoke and Mary Goin and her husband, Clay, of Vinton; an aunt, Dot Dozier and husband, Lomax, of Virginia Beach; along with many nieces, nephews and countless friends. She will be missed mightily by her loving dog, Buddy. Frances was a nurse at the Aylett Medical Center for 30 years, where she loved helping and caring for all her patients. She was a co-founder of the King William Little League, past PTA President of the high school and elementary school, state PTA Vice President and charter MNOP Member and a member of Sharon Baptist Church for over 30 years. Frances was loved and will be missed by many. Her family received friends at the Bennett Funeral Home in Mechanicsville on Friday, April 4, 2008. A memorial service took place on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Bennett Funeral Home in Mechanicsville. Cremains will be interred by the family in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the King William Little League, P.O. Box 22, Aylett, Va. 23009 or the King William Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad at P.O. Box 139, Aylett, Va. 23009.

Martha Jane Helm, 86, formerly of Coraopolis, Pa., passed away on March 1, 2008 in Richmond, and was preceded in death by her husband, Roy W. Helm Jr. She is survived by her children, Susan Helm, Roy Helm III, John Helm and Peter Helm; along with seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and her sister, Mary Lee. She was a devoted wife, mother, artist, and active in her community. Friends were received at Copeland Funeral Home in Coraopolis, Pa. on Friday, March 7, 2008, with graveside services following on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the Evans City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice of Virginia, 7231 Forest Ave., Suite 100, Richmond, Va. 23226.

Roderick O. “Toot” Satterwhite, 31, of Glen Allen, died March 29, 2008. Surviving are his sons, Jonathan and Justin; his mother, Doris Satterwhite; brothers, Randy Jr. and Preston; sister, Amber; two grandmothers, Ruth Satterwhite and Lula Horne; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. The family received friends Thursday, April 3, 2008 at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd. Graveside services were held Friday, April 4, 2008 at Winns Baptist Church Cemetery.

Carolyn Taylor “NaNa” Walters, 67, of Mechanicsville, passed away Monday, March 31, 2008. She is survived by her mother, Pearl Lucille Taylor; her children, David Michael Walters and wife, Melanie, James Andrew Walters and Cissy and Susan W. Hale and husband, Paul; grandchildren, Andrew Taylor Walters, Brittany Nicole Walters, Rebecca Lou Walters and Michael Alan Hale; one great-grandson, Andrew Taylor Walters Jr. The family received friends Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Road, and where a funeral service was held Thursday, April 3, 2008. Graveside services followed at Washington Memorial Park.
