While the organization’s emphasis is obviously business, don’t let the name Hanover Association of Businesses and Chamber of Commerce deceive you. Thanks to strong members and a dedicated staff, this group is integral to the ongoing success we enjoy in Hanover County.
Listening to what has been accomplished, as well as goals, during last Wednesday’s Annual Dinner and Membership Meeting left this writer feeling good about this place we call home. There is a true spirit of community in the words and deeds of the people involved in the HABCC.
Helping the small business owner and helping the county administration attract “the big guys” appear to be equal in importance to the chamber. It’s all about keeping people employed and businesses thriving.
Simply put, the work these people do is impressive — and inspiring.
The members are our friends and neighbors and they are united in their efforts to keep Hanover County moving forward and maintain the quality of life we enjoy.
Partnering with county government, including our new economic development director and school superintendent, provides for a highly beneficial relationship.
We’re fortunate, and sometimes we may take this for granted. The spirit of cooperation surrounding us is to be respected — and cherished.
To the HABCC, thank you for your work and good luck in the coming year. We are confident more good things will be coming our way.
Etc.
+ As we prepare for the Nov. 8 election, candidates have submitted their announcements, explaining who they are, their platforms, roles in the community, etc. We do appreciate the cooperation. That being said, an item needs clarification about a Henry District candidate. Republican Sean Davis is a real estate agent, not a real estate developer.
