Helping us do our job

Part of our job is keeping our readers up to speed on the interesting stories in our area that they can’t or won’t see elsewhere. That’s why we are always grateful when they call or write us about anything they think might be of interest.

This week’s story on page two of one man’s donation of a kidney to his brother is an example of things we only find out about when someone picks up the phone and calls us.

Although a kidney transplant is no longer breaking news these days, it’s stories like these about local area folks that are the lifeblood of a community newspaper like the Mechanicsville Local.

Yes, we know we don’t get to them all, for reasons of time, manpower and space in the Local, but we want to hear from you, so keep them coming in.
We’ll do our best to pass them along.

And remember the old adage, the squeaky wheel gets the grease!

So don’t be shy. If there’s something going on that you know about that we don’t, let us know.

And remember our Web site at http://www.mechlocal.com, where you can post photos and calendar items and comment on the Local’s stories.

Join in and help us do our job as a community newspaper!
