Hanover’s B. J. Ostergren has succeeded in getting attention for the issue she has so passionately championed, preventing social security numbers from being made widely available on public documents on the Internet (see story page 3).
Trouble is in doing so, she evidently made Virginia lawmakers so mad, they decided to pass a law against her, rather than solving the underlying problem.
How’s that for a misapplication of government power?
Another mistake by the General Assembly.
Let’s hope the courts intervene and set things right one more time.
