Vote. Those four letters make a word that may be little in size but are big in impact.
On Tuesday, you have the opportunity to make a difference by going to the polls. This privilege we enjoy cannot be taken lightly. It is our right, it is our responsibility to cast our ballot.
Simply put, by doing so, we become part of the solution in the direction our country, state and county take.
Based on the number of letters to the editor we received heading into the Nov. 8 General Election, there is indeed great interest in the course of Hanover County. Most endorsements for candidates have been in support of the Board of Supervisors seats.
As a matter of fact, our letters section is filled with readers’ opinions on those seeking office.
We encourage you to take the time to learn about the candidates and what their platforms. It isn’t just about politics, consider philosophies too.
Make your statement by taking part in the political process. Tuesday is your day to do just that. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Etc.
+ Congratulations to Anne Geddy Cross, the 2011 Hanover Christmas Mother. And thank you to the Doswell Ruritan Club for inviting us to take part in covering the announcement on Wednesday at Pebble Hill, the Doswell home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Flippo. They were such gracious hosts and it was a delight to meet Christmas Mothers from throughout the years. This is a program that merits our attention and support. I so enjoyed interview Mrs. Cross on Thursday and look forward to working with her in making sure Hanover County children have a merry Christmas. Please do what you can do support this worthwhile cause.
