The Williams family is all smiles in front of Atlee High School. Maj. Steven Williams, left, flew into Richmond from Afghanistan on Monday. With an 11 a.m. arrival, he and his wife Vicki headed to Atlee High School at 1 p.m. to surprise their daughter Taylor as she left class.
Log spill jams up traffic on U.S. 360

A tractor-trailer hauling logs overturned just before noon on Monday, Nov. 23, sending the cargo across U.S. 360 and the ramp area on Cold Harbor Road. Eastbound traffic on 360 was impacted for several hours.

On a recent trip to Tampa, Florida, Gail & Ralph Ellis they had a chance to see the 2008 World Series Champions Philadelphia Phillies play the New York Yankees at the Bright House Field in Clearwater. They also saw games between the Detroit Tigers and Florida Marlins and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and Toronto Blue Jays. While there they visited with former Mechanicsville residents and family members, Bonnie and Paul Thomasson.
