The Hanover Hornets took 2nd place in the 12U division this weekend (April 21-22) in the Top Gun AA State Tournament held in Newport News.

Re: Kids raise money for animal shelter

Friends Ethan Boeding, Alexis and Kenton Tavares raised money to purchase food for the local animal shelter by hosting a lemonade and cookie sale. They raised enough money to purchase the food you see in this photo. They were so excited to hear from the people who worked in the shelter that this food came in very handy. They were going to have to go out and get some because they were out of food.

Whoooo lives in Knollwood

There is a family of barred owls that live in my yard in Knollwood subdivision off of Cool Springs road. We were surprised to see this one just 5 feet from our family room window.

PS, I know you request one picture per email so I am sending another email with another picture of the owl, one picture is lighter then the other, and if you decide to publish it, you can decide which picture will be clearer in the newspaper.
