The Local goes to the Four Corners Mon. Sep 22, 2008
Joe Ransone and Victoria Roche took the Local with them on their recent trip to the Four Corners. They traveled with Mary Keohane-Ransone this summer to Las Vegas and the Four Corners. Victoria is in 4th grade at Cool Spring Elementary.

Governor’s Mansion Sun. Sep 21, 2008
Recently the LeBlanc Family had the privilege of attending a cook-out at
the Governor's Mansion. While there, they were able to take a tour and
learn more about the history of the mansion and all those who have lived
there. Pictured in the back row is Governor Kaine, Danny, Kym & Anne
Holton. In the front row is Hannah, Avery & Meredith. Hannah and
Meredith attend Rural Point Elementary.

Emily Agee donates to Locks of Love Fri. Sep 19, 2008
Emily Agee, a 7th Grader at Oak Knoll Middle School, donated 10 inches of her hair to Locks of Love over the summer. Pictured with Emily is her hair stylist, Christy Kellum, from Indulgence, located in Ashland.

The Local goes to Occaloosa Island Thu. Sep 4, 2008
Monica and Austin Covey, on a recent trip to Occaloosa Island, Destin, Fl. Took the Mechanicsville Local with them for good reading and a reminder of home. Austin is a 3rd grader at Mechanicsville Elementary School. We love our paper and are faithful readers each week.

The Local visits Plymouth Thu. Sep 4, 2008
David and Martha Swafford flew to Plymouth, England to visit their daughter Amelia, who is working at the University of Plymouth. Both decided to fly home instead of embarking from the steps that launched the Mayflower on the 6th of September 1620.
