Triple Crown Tournament Champions Mon. Mar 31, 2008
The 12U Hanover Sports Baseball Club claimed the Triple Crown Baseball Fall Tournament at Va Sports Complex. The 12U Sports finished 5-0 in the 14 team tournament. The club has posted a 41-10 record for the year.

The Local studies at Oxford Mon. Mar 31, 2008
Rebecca Zimmerman and Claire Logan Arnett, both Mechanicsville natives, spent their summers in England at Oxford University. Claire worked with the Virginia Program at Oxford and Rebecca went with the University of Virginia Program at Oxford.

Carribean island of Antigua Mon. Mar 31, 2008
Thomas Corbin and Crissy Anderson were married on July 4th 2007 on the Carribean island of Antigua with 32 of there friends and family. The Mechanicsvile Local also made the trip.

Atlee 13-14 Juniors Softball Mon. Mar 31, 2008
Atlee 13-14 Juniors Softball defeated Huguenot 3-2 to win the District V Championship!
Clara Adkins pitched six innings giving up only 3 hits and striking out 7 batters. Emily DeNoon closed the game pitching the 7th inning. The game was scoreless until the top of the 5th inning when DeNoon got on base with a hit and scored and rbi by Erica Barrett. Barrett then scored on a squeeze bunt play hit by Adkins. The score was tied 2-2 til the top of the 7th inning when DeNoon and Barrett got on base with hits. Adkins walked to load the bases. With 2 outs, a great battle at the plate, fouling off several pitches, Alaina Perkins, with a full count, took ball 4 to walk in the winning run!
