Emily Agee, a 7th Grader at Oak Knoll Middle School, donated 10 inches of her hair to Locks of Love over the summer. Pictured with Emily is her hair stylist, Christy Kellum, from Indulgence, located in Ashland.

The Local goes to Occaloosa Island Thu. Sep 4, 2008
Monica and Austin Covey, on a recent trip to Occaloosa Island, Destin, Fl. Took the Mechanicsville Local with them for good reading and a reminder of home. Austin is a 3rd grader at Mechanicsville Elementary School. We love our paper and are faithful readers each week.

The Local visits Plymouth Thu. Sep 4, 2008
David and Martha Swafford flew to Plymouth, England to visit their daughter Amelia, who is working at the University of Plymouth. Both decided to fly home instead of embarking from the steps that launched the Mayflower on the 6th of September 1620.

Watkins donates to Locks of Love Thu. Sep 4, 2008
Erin Watkins, rising 5th grader at Pole Green Elementary, donated 10 inches of her hair to Locks of Love to help make wigs for children suffering from childhood cancer and/or alopecia.
Her Aunt Cheryl Furr, owner of Beyond Bangz in Mechanicsville cut Erin’s hair and designed her cute new hairdo.
