Mechanicsville Strikers Shooting Stars Win Jefferson Open U8 Division
The Richmond Strikers organization hosted the Jefferson Open 3v3 soccer tournement this past weekend. A team of local kids, Andrew & Riley Cook, Austin Mills, Axel Bax, JW Saunders, and Teak Edwards, was put together for this event. They competed against 5 other teams from around the region to win the Regional Qualifier Championship Kick-It 3v3 Soccer Shootout. The final game was very closely contested ending in a 5-4 victory for the undefeated Shooting Stars. The Shooting Stars win advances them to the Regional Final. A win in that tournement will qualify them for the World Championships, taking place at Walt Disney World's Wide World of Sports Complex® in Orlando, FL.
