Last week, eight Hanover High School football players announced that they will continue their playing careers at the next level.
Ben Rogers
Hampden Sydney College
A four year starter, Rogers was a three-year captain for the Hawks’ Football program. He provided great leadership and helped lead the team from 0-10 in 2005 to Central Regions Champs in 2007.

Mention All Metro OT, 2006 Capital District 1st Team Offensive Tackle, 2006 Honorable Mention Central Region Offensive Tackle, 2004 Capital District Honorable Mention Center, 2005-2007 Team Captain (voted by Coaches and Peers).
Kirk Rohle
Hampden Sydney College
A four year starter, Rohle proved to be one of the best three-sport athletes in the region. He was a dynamic player for Hanover the past two years. Rohle started 14 games in three years.
2006 stats- (nine games), 478-yards rushing (4.1-yard per carry) 3-TD’s, 78 yards recieving on seven receptions, nine tackles, blocked punt.
2007 stats: 718 rushing yards, 250 receiving yards, 14 TD’s, eight tackles (All Special Teams).
2006 Capital District 1st Team running back, 2006 Honorable Mention Central Region running back, 2007 Capital District 1st Team RB, 2007 Central Region 2nd Team RB.
Terrell Tinsley
Averett
Tinsley was the Iron Hawk Award Winner in 2007 and was the most improved player in the Hanover football program over the last four years.
2006 Stats: 270 Yard Rushing (4.0 ypc), 43 yd run.
2007 Stats: Regular season (529 yards rushing), 6.1 ypc, 4 TD’s.
2007 Capital District Hon. Mention RB.
Dallas Brummell
Christopher Newport University
Brummell developed into one the most dangerous receiving threats in the Capital District over the last two seasons.
2006 stats: Started 11 games, 79 passing yards, 41 rushing yards, 94 receiving yards, four receptions (2 TD’s) (23.5 yards per catch), 66 yard TD reception.
2007 stats: Started 13 games, 25 catches for 350 total yards, 26.1 ypc during the reg. season, 5 TD’s.

Jake Kain
Christopher Newport University
Kain became one the defensive leaders as a senior and elevated his play to become one of the best Defensive Backs in the Central Region.
2006 Stats: 21 Tackles (14 Solo), six tackles for loss, two INTs., seven pass break ups, two fumble recoveries (1FF).
2007 Stats: 28 tackles, 22 solo, 16 PBU, one INT, three FR, two FF, four TFL.
2007 Capital District 1st Team DB, 2007 Central Region 2nd Team DB, 2007 Times-Dispatch All-Metro Richmond 2nd Team DB, 2007 Hanover Defensive MVP.
Marshall ‘Britt’ Wright
George Mason
Wright was elected as one of the football captains before his senior season by his teammates and coaches. He was a true team player for the football team. He became a vital part of team serving as the short yardage back and special teams’ contributor.
James Yeager
Christopher Newport University
Yeager was a three year starter on the defense at both OLB and DE and was a key defensive player for the Hanover Football team this past season. Yeager was injured for all but five games as a senior and became a true leader during his injury. He did whatever he could to help his teammates improve.
2006 Stats: Started 13 Games in three years, 62 Tackles (32 Solo), 9 TFL, one INT, two PBUs, one FR.
2007 Stats: Played in only six games due to injury, 34 Tackles (21 solo), seven TFL, two sacks, one FF, 2006 and 2007 Capital District Honorable Mention Linebacker.
