Capital District Playoff
Kenner Berry hit the game-winning RBI in the 10th inning, giving Atlee to a 5-4 win over Hanover that decided the Capital District regular-season championship on Monday at Highland Springs. Atlee earned the first seed in the district tournament, which begins today.
The Raiders also earned an automatic berth in the region playoffs.
Jack Edwards went 3 for 5 for Hanover. James Walsh pitched nine innings for the Raiders, allowing four runs.

Liz Napps scored twice and Alex Pinkleton added a third goal as fifth-seeded Maggie Walker Governor’s School overcame a tough start to beat fourth-seeded Patrick Henry 3-1.
Rachel Camden scored six minutes in to put the Patriots in the lead. Chetta Emba finished with eight saves and kept Patrick Henry off the score sheet for the rest of the contest.

CENTRAL REGION QUARTERFINALS
Dominion District runner- up Lauren Denuel defeated Deep Run’s Caroline Mosberg 6-3, 6-1 to set up a meeting with Capital District No. 1 Angelina Sportelli of Lee-Davis, who topped Dinwiddie’s Lauren Tucker 6-1, 6-1 at Mills Godwin.
Christine Abbot, last year’s region runner up last year for Midlothian, beat Mills Godwins’ Abbey Randolph 6-1, 6-0. She hasn’t lost a singles match this year. She will face Glen Allen’s Karen Pak, who dispatched Prince George’s Melissa Tomlin 6-1, 6-1.
Action continues today at Mills Godwin.
