Haleigh Cottrell went 2 for 4 with three RBIs. Shaqual Green broke up Varina’s\ no-hit bid.
Bailey Lien’s two-out, two-run single helped No. 3 seed Hanover squeeze past No. 2 seed Atlee 6-5 in the semifinals.
Erica Barret went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI and Shannon Albright reached base four times for the Hawks.
Cameron Hall’s two-run double highlighted the Raiders’ three-run third.
Reagan Salyers’ RBI triple gave Atlee a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the sixth.

Haley Harris went 3 for 4 with two doubles and an RBI, and Emily Dunford was 2 for 3 with two doubles as J.R. Tucker beat Deep Run 5-4 in the semifinals. Riley Wallace went 2 for 4 and had two RBIs for the Wildcats, and Kaelyn Hartless finished 2 for 4.
Emma Mitchell struck out 12 batters and threw a one-hitter as No. 1 Patrick Henry defeated No. 5 Hermitage 1-0 in the semifinals.
Katie Woody and Ellen Davidson each went 2 for 3 for the Patriots. Woody scored the winning run.
Callie Douthat had the Panthers’ lone hit.

Chris Kunca dug the ball out of a scramble and scored halfway through the third overtime to give fourth-seeded Lee-Davis a 3-2 semifinal upset of No. 1-seeded Hanover. Ryan Sheetz scored twice in five minutes to put the Confederates up 2-0 at halftime.
The Hawks battled back with Alex Taddiken converting a penalty kick five minutes into the second half, and Ryan Burton forced overtime with a goal 15 minutes later.
In a double overtime semifinal match, the Atlee Raiders scored two goals from Hunter Boroughs and Daniel Lourenco to defeat the Warriors of Henrico 2-0. Forrest Baber had 13 saves for the Warriors and Dimitris Killinger had five saves for the Raiders.

Sam Armentrout and Ashley Riefner scored two goals apiece to lead top seeded Atlee past No. 4 Henrico 7-2 in the semifinals.
Kim Glymph, Brooke Jerman and Lindsay Wilkins each scored a goal for the Raiders. Michela Nardi and Christina Simpson recorded goals for the Warriors.
Hanover came from a 1-0 halftime deficit to score three goals in the second half to defeat Lee-Davis 3-1. Jordan Davis and Maria Piccolomini were a part of the three goal second half spurt. Liz Donnini scored the lone goal for the Confederates.
Caroline Crowder had 12 saves in net for the Hawks, while Megan Dover had nine for the Confederates.

GIRLS TENNIS
CENTRAL REGION
Lauren Denuel of Cosby defeated Angela Sportelli of Lee-Davis 6-3, 6-2 on Tuesday in the Central Region girls tennis singles semifinals. In the other semi, Christine Abbott of Midlothian beat Glen Allen’s Karen Pak 6-0, 6-0.
The results set up an all-Dominion District final. Abbott, a junior, was the 2010 region runner-up and is facing off against Denuel for the fourth time this season.
Abbott won the previous three matches, with one of them going to three sets. She never has lost a singles match to a Dominion District opponent.
In doubles, Abigail Randolph and Haley Moses of Mills Godwin defeated the James River pairing of Alexa Rennie and Katherine Stafford 6-4, 6-1. Anjelica Esteves teamed with Denuel, and the Cosby duo defeated the Deep Run pairing of Caroline Mosberg and Tory Brown 6-1, 6-2.
