Local swimmers excel at CAA Championships

Last weekend at the CAA swimming championships, former Lee-Davis swimmer Austin Witherow competed for George Mason University. As a freshman, Witherow turned in his best performance of the day with a second place finish in the 200 Butterfly, breaking the school record with a time of 1:49.32.
Swimming in the 100 Fly, Witherow finished fourth with a time of 49.33.
In the 400 Freestyle Relay, Witherow was joined by teammates Erick Knight, Spencer Roe and Preston Wolter claimed a second place finish with a time of 2:59.84.
In the 200 Free Relay, Witherow, Knight, Roe and Tad Ogren took third with a time of 1:20.74.
Former Raider Adam Carter also swam in the event as a freshman with George Mason.
In the 200 Medley Relay, former Atlee swimmer Sidney Glass was part of a William and Mary team that finished third with a time of 1:31.43.
As a team, the George Mason men finished second, 72 points behind UNC-Wilmington.
