Last week, NASCAR driver Rusty Wallace returned to victory lane at Richmond International Raceway. However, this time around the man, who ranks as the third all-time winner at Richmond with six victories, was not there to celebrate a race victory. Instead the former driver of the Miller Lite #2 car cruised into victory lane behind the wheel of a new white Ford Mustang as part of a promotional partnership between RIR and Loveland Distributing- a local distributor of Miller Lite and Miller-Coors.

Following months of anticipation and plenty of toning, the muscle cars are ready to flex at Daytona International Speedway this Friday. The NASCAR Nationwide Series muscle cars (Ford Mustang, Dodge Challenger, Chevrolet Impala and Toyota Camry) make their long-awaited debut in the first of four events the next generation cars will run this year—the third of which is at Richmond International Raceway on Friday, September 10, in the Virginia 529 College Savings 250 “under the lights.” The new models will run full-time in 2011.

Richmond International Raceway is offering Pace Car rides around America’s Premier Short Track on Friday, May 21 (2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.) to guests who donate $5 for a collectible NASCAR Day lapel pin. NASCAR Day, annually celebrated on the third Friday in May, is a charitable celebration of the NASCAR spirit that enables fans and partners to join together to make a difference in the lives of children.

On Saturday, NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr., Chevrolet and GM Military Discounts announced that they have teamed up with teenagers Robbie and Brittany Bergquist to further promote Cell Phones for Soldiers.
The charity got its humble beginnings in 2004 when then 12-and 13-year old Robbie and Brittany pooled $21 and started collecting gently used cell phones to be refurbished.… Read more...
From the opening laps of the Crown Royal Present the Heath Calhoun 400 at Richmond International Raceway, it looked as if NASCAR driver Kyle Busch and his No. 18 M&M’s Toyota was going to run away from the field.
From the pole position, Busch led the first 230 laps of the race, most in dominating fashion, pulling out to as much as a nine second lead over the nearest competitors.
But on the eve of his 25th birthday, Busch got the opportunity to show that he really has matured.
