Danica Patrick not looking forward to race in Japan

  This Sunday the Indycar race series is scheduled to run a race in Motegi, Japan. Because of the recent, earthquakes, tsunami and damage to nuclear reactors, driver Danica Patrick showed reservations about making the trip.

Busch wins yet again at Richmond

Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards turned the Virginia 529 College Savings 250 into a slugfest at Richmond International Raceway on Friday night.

The two Sprint Cup competitors dominated the Nationwide Series race, leading for a combined 234 of 250 laps, but Edwards’ attempt to overtake Busch at the end stalled in the final five laps to give Busch his eighth Nationwide win of the year and 51st of his career.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. finished third, giving him a 16-point lead over Emporia’s Elliott Sadler – who finished sixth – in the Nationwide… Read more...

Mixed feelings for Hamlin during White House visit

Last Wednesday NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin found himself battling mixed emotions as he stood at the left hand of President Barack Obama.

  On one hand, a special invitation to the White House left Hamlin exited to return to Washington D.C. for the second time and take a closer look at the historic building.

Harvick hangs up trucks and Gordon meets the Bieb

Truckin’ no more

Kevin Harvick is lightening his workload.

On Wednesday, Harvick, driver of the #29 Budweiser Chevrolet, announced that he will merge his Nationwide Series operations with Richard Childress Racing. On Friday, he announced that he will no longer field teams in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

He had already suspended his truck manufacturing operation more than a month ago.

RIR to pay tribute to military and first responders

As fans fill the stands at Richmond International Raceway this Saturday night, September 10th, they will be joining in the most patriotic pre-race ceremony ever at America’s Premier Short Track.  To honor America, the pre-race ceremony will begin with a “Salute to America” concert featuring patriotic music performed by police and military bands, as well as an active duty marine.
