Clint Bowyer in his BB&T Chevrolet led the most laps but in the end it was Carl Edwards in the Scotts Ford who took the win in the Emerson Radio 250 at Richmond International Raceway on Sunday night.
For most of the race it looked as if Bowyer would run away with the win, after taking the lead from Joey Logano on lap seven then leading for the next 195. But with 27 laps to go, Edwards passed Bowyer for the lead and held on through three restarts following cautions to take the checkered flag.

Forty-three cars sparkled under bright sunny skies at Richmond International Raceway Sunday for the rain-delayed Chevy Rock & Roll 400, the final cut-off race to determine NASCAR’s twelve eligible Sprint Cup Chase contenders. Tropical Storm Hanna had washed out Friday’s qualifying session as well as the Saturday night’s race, therefore the top 35 lined up in order of points, giving the frontrunners a comfortable start at or near the front of the pack for the final qualifier.

After all of the build up and tension over who would make the Cup cut, the outcome was no different than the beginning. The top 12 drivers coming into the race finished as the top 12 heading into the Chase. The only change came in how the drivers are seeded after bonus points and tie-breakers were included.

The Chevy Rock & Roll 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. Sunday. The Emerson Radio 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race will follow the Sprint Cup Series race at 7:00 p.m.
